I've only made 3 decent pens so far. But, I've been thru at least 25 blanks getting to this point. Lots of blowouts, etc. have prevented me from making decent pens. But, each pen is a learning experience. The first pic is my first pen. It's a Cocobolo Slimline. The second pic is my second pen, etc. #2 is made from Black Walnut. #3 is Leopard wood, which is fairly hard to turn, because it flakes off rather than shaves off like regular wood. Hope you like them.

Hey, I'd BETTER like them! I think I'd get an ear full, if I didn't ;D You really worked hard for that 12% reward! Nice looking pens! Does your camera have a Macro setting? If so, try it next time... also, if you can use a tripod it will go a long way to getting clearer focused pictures. Once you get it set, instead of pushing the button to take the pic, use the automatic timer feature to let it do it... avoids any hand movement. Also, don't use any ZOOM features... just Macro & move-in close to fill the frame diagonally. I don't have a lathe... Back in Jr. High I made a lamp... 1st & last project on a lathe... it was fun...

I haven't turned a pen YET, but it does look like fun. Yours turned (pun) out good.
