Why the hell do we honest law abiding tax payers have to put up with criminals rights. I feel that they lost those rights and about 75% of them should have been executed immediately. And why should anyone care jf they go on a hunger strike, why that’s the only honorable thing they could do is save the tax payers money and end it for themselves. Plus with all the contraband they are able to get, I don’t believe they are starving anyway. I just don’t care about their rights.

I agree with you 100%. I find it ironic that prisoners complain. Don't they know they are being punished?

I hear that Calif spends more money on prisoners than any other state for health benefits.
I overheard some gang members give some advice to someone who I guess was going to prison about all the benefits. One of them was bragging about all the free dental work he got while he was there.
It sounded like they get better benefits than I do, because I have to pay for my own dental.

California is the Sickest state of the Union! They seem to think if you teach the criminals how NICE things can be, they will NOT commit crimes to get them, when they get out! It used to be that once One was guilty of a Felony, they lost all of their Rights... They couldn't even VOTE once they got out! I don't remember if there was a time limit on it or not... Such SICK thinking! They don't teach them a trade, etc. in order to be able to WORK & BUY all of those niceties... Then, they wonder why they get out, commit crimes to get what they had in prison, & have to return to prison! When I was a kid, my mother told me that when people go to Jail, they get fed Bread & Water... I thought, "YUK... I never want to go to Jail, EVER!" California is SO twisted in the wrong directions, it's pitiful! I HATE the Government in California... They have ruined our State! I am a Native Californian!! I used to be proud of it... Now, I'm ashamed of it!

I remember a while back on the news some guy was being sent to prison and said right on TV that it was OK because he needs a vacation anyway.

I ran across this...
Let's put the seniors in jail, and the criminals in a nursing home.
This way the seniors would have access to showers, hobbies, and walks, they'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc. and they'd receive money instead of paying it out.
They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance. Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.
A guard would check on them every 20 minutes, and bring their meals and snacks to their cell. They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose. They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counseling, pool and education.
Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, P.J.'s, and legal aid would be free on request. Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens. Each senior could have a P.C., a T.V., radio, and daily phone calls. There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct, that would be strictly adhered to.
The "criminals" would get cold food, be left all alone, and unsupervised, lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week, live in a tiny room, pay $4,000.00 per month and have no hope of ever getting out. Justice for all. .

If my wife didn't need me around so much, I'd check into that...
They would have to have a woodshop, unlimited use of wood, best dust control money could buy, etc.
If they had all of that, I'd be robbing banks, using a toy GUN, get shipped off to the resort and live happily ever after!
OOoops... they would also have to access to the internet, free email, etc. Highest Speed broadband access as possible... Without that, that would be a Deal Breaker...
Anyone know about that feature?
