G'day, Dave here.
Born and bred Aussie.
Just a quick bit about me. Started working with tools while in school. If I was not making and fixing my own bike I was hammering and cutting whatever I could get my hands on and fixing furniture for my mum.
Straight out of school, 1987, went into an apprenticeship as Carpenter & Joiner. Most of my experience has been 'on site'
With about 1/4 century in the building industry that is my back ground. Did a little woodturning at school and bought a lathe in about 2004 that I never used. Near the end of 2010 I was introduced to the lathe again via a demo on pen turning. I got hooked.
I have done about 150 pens since, 5 bowls, 1 plater and a few pieces of fruit.
My goal is to get into turning full-time with an open workshop (yet to be built) on the side of my house where people can come and watch me work and I can sell my wares.
I have a wife and 3 young children plus another 6 step children
