I live in the extreme southeast corner of Georgia. Any farther east and I’m in the Atlantic Ocean, any farther south and I’m in Florida. We (my wife of 47 years and I) have lived here since 1982 (I'm originally from Galveston, TX). I'm a retired USN submarine radioman (E-7) with 21 years of service. I then started a new job that was temporary until something better came along. That was as a police officer in St. Marys, GA. 24 years later on Jan 20, 2009, I retired from that as a Captain. Nothing better came along. I'm now 62 and pretty much unemployable. Looking for something part-time for tool and coldbeer (in southeast Ga, that's one word) money. I enjoy computer work, I was the Departmental IT for the police dept. and woodworking. The Navy trained me in electronic repair and I have done some 2-way radio and mobile phone work (not cell phone).
I’m fairly new to woodworking. Up to recently, just tinkered here and there. Recently retired and have a lot of time and not a lot of money. Therefore I scavenge wood here and there (hardwood pallets are a good source). Mostly plywood and dimensional pine from the big box stores. Looking for tips and things to make. Not much in the design department but I can follow a set of plans. I’ll be bugging everybody on here for assistance.
