OK, now, we're ready to use the crosscut sled to cut small pieces and prepare for the main Banding strip glue-up. The middle section of the Banding is made up Maple and Walnut. To start, we glued a Maple 2" strip to a Walnut 2" strip... Spread the glue and glue them together. When dry, clean up a little, and we're ready for the next step. We now have to cut 1/2" pieces of the Maple Walnut sandwich... and, we will use the bandsaw crosscut sled to do it!
OK, now we arrange that Maple Walnut pieces in alternating fashion on top of a strip of Cherry... when done, the other Cherry strip is placed on top. This is the dry fit... so to speak... that shows what the final Banding will look like.
Next, is the Main Glue-up... Click me. Go back to main index. (Click me)
