I don’t know where to put this, but I guess this is as good a place as any. I was noticing a lot of sawdust lately as I was using my table saw this past week and then today I noticed the dang Blast Gate for the Dust Collection was closed. My eyes do see so well in dark places anymore and it is dark under my table. So I painted the door Red with “OPEN” stick-on letters. I wanted to do it in yellow but ran out of yellow paint. Now I’m going to do all of them the same with the exception of the router table because I can’t see that one even when it is open. ;D

At least you had a way of finding out. Marking for open should do it, unless you don't look at it. Tie a bow on your finger. ;D

If this doesn't work I'll have to connect some electric wires to so that when I turn on the switch and the gate is closed I'll get a shock to remind me. ;D

Yep, that's a COOL of trying to remind you of it... ... but, if you were like me, I'd forget it anyway! ;D

It would probably work better if I looked to crank up the bade but I don’t. I just reach under and start cranking.

Here's a solution
- reverse the gate so down is open - extend the gate length so when closed it pops up above the table but when open it is out of the way
Now you have to open it to have freedom of the table
