Good Day, Here is a Link to a huge PDF file that contains Niki's Jigs. Niki, for all of you that missed his work, was a super clever engineer that LOVED to come up with various ways to solve woodworking problems or make various tasks easier to do without expensive new tools. He passed away a few months ago and his widow was able to find all of his Tips & Jigs and, with help from others, was able to put them all into a pdf file. We thank her for doing a wonderful job... This will make Niki's work available to you anyone that wants it. Niki would have wanted it that way. CAUTION: It is a huge pdf file and takes several minutes to download, even on a high-speed broadband connection. Once downloaded, you can Save it to your computer. www.woodworkstuff.net/The_Wonderful_World_of_Nikis_Jigs.pdf

Many thanks for posting that link Joe, whilst I sometimes thought that Niki's projects were rather too precision for wood, which of course moves with the weather, I never the less held him in very high regard and in fact made a metal version of his router lifter which is brilliant for dowelling and mortising, I've always referred to it as my NIKILIFT. I'll see if I can find the photo-shoot of the making of it one of these days.

Yes, Niki was one of a kind... He was a true expert at engineering, designing, & making Jigs. Every move he made was to establish and maintain accuracy. It' wonderful to study his procedures very carefully to understand why he was doing what he was doing.
I think we are very fortunate to have his works in one very nice pdf file for everyone to enjoy.
I made my 45* triangles using his method, which was very straight forward... except for a little private tip he gave me... "Put an extra washer between workpiece and the plastic triangle to make it easier for the bearing to ride on."

I too respected Niki and his talent for mechanical engineering. And, a big 'Thank-you to you, Joe, for keeping his work alive. Niki would be very proud to know that so many people appreciate him and his talents. Would you happen to have a picture of Niki, Joe, or anyone else out there for that matter. Just a thought - post his pic in that first post below the link to his projects.
Later, Chiz

Later, Chiz Here is one of the pictures I could find... . Hey Chiz,You are Welcome! CBman,Thank you for that picture! I have been talking to his wife, Regina, on developing an E-Book of Niki's works. She sent me some pictures.. but this one was NOT there... I like it! Good picture! I will share it with her... I found out that this PDF file is NOT ALL of his stuff... I am in the process of collecting more of his work for the E-book. She sent me more of his work too... including some of his last Notes he had drawn! Very interesting! One thing that has delayed progress is that damn Microsoft Killing Windows XP! ... forcing me to get a New computer just so I can run Windows 7 (which I HATE!!)... I have ordered it... should be here in a week or so... Work will still be slow... Niki's son wants to help with the E-Book after he gets his PHD degree, sometime in April... Will be interesting. If anyone finds a source to more of Niki's work (besides LumberJocks), please let me know... OK?Thank you very much!

Joe, you think that you hate Win 7 now? Just wait until you own it! Both my wife and I have had problems with their automatic updates deleting things and resetting settings - it even deleted all of my restore points. Marsha was lucky and was able to restore hers but, there was still some minor damage. Best of luck to you with this operating system disaster!
PS I almost forgot. Whatever it did to IE made it almost infuriatingly troublesome. Such as, finding and actually getting to a website is troublesome and sometimes doesn't even get there. And, hot links within a particular site is ok, but it refuses to hot link to another site. I have Chrome on my PC and it has no such issues. Well, that's about all... for now.

As far as the IE goes, it will NOT be run on my computer, unless absolutely required; like to download Chrome & Opera (if they have a browser that will work)... I HATE IE... I HATE MS! My wife, as far as we know, on her Win.7 computer, has not had any trouble with the Updates... I am NOT looking FWD to it!

UPDATE YES, I hate Win.7! Photoshop doesn't work on it (I cannot afford to buy another one). Even MS Paint doesn't work the same like it did before; still haven't figured out how to really USE IT! The SEARCH SUCKS BIG TIME!! You cannot do a simple search to find Files that were Recently Created or Modified!! Giant BUMMER! When getting email with links to pictures & PDFs, etc. BEFORE YOU CAN LOOK AT THEM (Yes, I said LOOK at them), they FORCE you to SAVE THEM in a fricken Library THEN LOOK at them... Deleting them afterward most of the time! How & WHY they decided to do that, makes no sense whatsoever! IMHO, it is a HUGE STEP Backwards from Win.XP!We are getting closer to be working on Collecting and making an E-Book of Niki's great work... Within a month a two, we should be working on it Hot & Heavy!
So, StandBy... it has NOT been forgotten!Joe

So, StandBy... it has NOT been forgotten!Joe I had no complaints about XP. I still have it on one of my desktops. My first laptop was Win7, and it wasn't half bad. Photoshop, and Paint worked OK. When getting links to pictures or PDF's the window asks if you want to "open with" or "save". I never save, and use the best option to "open"...which is really a "view". If you save it to a library, it needs to be downloaded, and that's a waste, just to view it. As for Niki's stuff, that would be great if it was configured into an eBook of some sort. How do you plan to do that? .

Preparing a good Table of Contents so that various subjects can be easily and quickly found is one thing I want to work out. Just gathering all of the data is a major undertaking... then, of course, putting it all together, properly coded, etc. is the next major part. Specialized software giving good control of PDF files as well as other file types merged into the common END is mandatory.

Specifically, Niki was a very clever intuitive woodworker that documented his various shopmade woodworking jigs and fixtures. He took and posted progressive pictures for each one with a detailed text for each picture. He passed away, and there's been discussions of how to accumulate his works. .
