Hi! I’m a casting producer for reality TV competitions like Face Off and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge. Right now I’m working on a show for furniture builders.
Are you a master woodworker? Do you weld insane yet functional art/furniture? Do you combine elements of wood, glass, stone, or metal to make something more than the sum of the materials? We have the opportunity of a lifetime for you!
A NEW COMPETITION SERIES from Spike TV is looking for creative fabricators, carpenters, woodworkers, metal workers, upholsters, and concept artists for a show about designing and crafting custom and unique furniture!
This is going to be a competition series where one by one contestants are eliminated until one builder is declared the winner. Not only is this nationwide exposure for your skills, but the winner gets a $100K PRIZE!
Send us your NAME, CONTACT INFO and PICS of your work or call for more info! mike [at] pitmancasting.com or 818-666-3606

How much travel time, if any, is involved?
Entry Fee required?
Any expenses paid in any way??
You dictate what needs to be made?
Can you give us more details?

Contact me for details on travel times. They are not set in stone yet, but would begin in September. We pay for all travel expenses, hotel, food, etc.
NO ENTRY FEE!!!
We are looking for builders who have a unique eye for furniture. No requirements per se, but the more you can show us different pieces (chairs, tables, stools, cabinets) from different woods and other materials (metal, glass, stone, etc), the better your chances are.
It will follow a similar structure to shows like Top Chef, Project Runway or Face Off (which we cast). Contestants will face a new challenge each episode. It may be based on a specific material, type of furniture, or other piece of inspiration. There will be a house that the artists share as well. The nice thing about these shows is that we don't have time for the "drama" that a lot of these other shows rely on. We focus everything on the skill sets and artists themselves.
At the end of each challenge, our panel of judges will send one of the designers/builders home until a winner is crowned and awarded a $100K prize!
We are still looking for judges too! If you're beyond the best of the best, I can put you in touch with the team working on that part of the show!
Happy 4th! Be safe!

I guess there would be a Woodshop where they all share to get their projects done? That could prove to be VERY DANGEROUS if there is Time Deadline causing a SPEEDUP Mode of operation. ANY woodworker will tell you "You always MUST take your time and NOT get into a big HURRY... it leaves too much room for errors and accidents." Sounds COOL... except, ONLY $100K to the winner? What happened to the normal $million$ prize? LOL (kidding)... have to Walk before Running, yes? Thank you... I don't think I am qualified to tackle it, but I know of some that ARE! I hope they step up to the plate and try it! Now, Judging, I think I could do... Sounds like fun! Thank you and Happy 4th to you too!
