Plugs are all trimmed flush to slats... shoulder is tired of block planing... resting... I have a few screw holes to fill... then to sand everything down a little... Hopefully to be done today... Then, ready for finishing... Didn't get any comments on the Finish, so, I guess I'll just go with BLO...

That's a lotta plugs. Maybe cut them a bit shorter so you don't have as much to sand off.

With that plug cutter, you have to drill very close to full depth in order to get the 'taper' just right. My drill press is so lame, it took several Up & downs to drill each plug... down till stops, up to get it running again, down & cut till it stops, etc. etc. And I had it on the lowest speed (highest power) that I could get. It was a PAIN... but got through it. I trimmed the plugs off with a saw... w/o cutting regular workpiece. I found that some of the leftover cutoffs were long enough for another plug (saved them, didn't use them here) (not sure about the taper. I STILL didn't get all sections cleaned & sanded! Should be able to get it tomorrow! All those slats, etc. take a little time to sand! More than meets the eye!

Everything has been lightly sanded. I decided to glue leather floor pads to the legs... During the next session, I will: 1. Fine-trim the leather pads. 2. Dye the chairs with TransTint Golden Brown. (water based) When completely dry, must light sand again, wipe down good, then apply Boiled Linseed Oil (BLO)... etc. Getting closer! Perhaps over the w/e I'll get to the BLO... (?) ... we shall see... no hurry...

I FOUND THE PLUG CUTTERS!I found them in a small cabinet/drawer in the bottom of my router table... ... the drawer label was blank... I have the tendency to just put the stuff in drawers w/o filling-in the labels... bad practice... w/ bad memory, = really BAD combo... They did NOT look like plug cutters! there were three things inside a plastic bag... each item had the plastic 'protector' on them... Anyone looking at them, even while looking for Plug Cutters, would NOT think of them as plug cutters! Anyway... I knew I had'em somewhere... I now have TWO 3/8" plug cutters and two others... looked like 1/2" & 3/4" (don't think I will ever use them) Oh, BTW, both chairs are Finished (no pics taken yet)... One dyed Golden Brown & one Natural (as is)... Both finished with BLO and look really good... to me!

Renovations can produce a great deal of waste if not handled properly. Here you can learn about the management issues you should consider, the availability of green building products, indoor air quality problems that might arise, how to reduce renovation waste and how to dispose of the remaining waste properly.

Remodeling can also take on the form of revamping or adding a bathroom, redoing a kitchen, overhauling your home's exterior for improved curb appeal, or completing an addition to increase your home's square footage and add valuable space. Big and small changes can both have an impact and will improve the way your home looks and functions, increasing its value and making it more enjoyable for you and your family.
