There's a court case on Tru TV now about a 16 year old boy that died while his parents prayed. The parents are being charged criminally in his death. The parents claim that their religious beliefs are that prayer is a healer.
The boy showed progressive health failure, that getting him to a doctor would have saved his life. I'm all for respecting someone's religious beliefs. Personally, I would have sought medical attention for my child no matter what if he/she was on their deathbed.
Any comments?

Well, I don't think being misguided, in this case, is criminal, and making criminal charges. The parents paid the ultimate price. As a Christian I believe God will judge both their actions and their faith.
But you can not dispute their faith in God. Jesus said; with a little faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains. Well? is it true or not? It also says in The Bible not to temp your lord, your God.
I can say maybe that's what they did... should that be tried in a court of mans laws? I don't think so.
This is a great example of a bad religious practice, but not criminal.

I agree to a point... Luke was a doctor... I'm sure God has guided our medical doctors & surgeons for a reason... I really think those parents were very much misguided... I think God expects us to use some "common sense"... One of the things that I include in our prayers is "Thank you for the Wisdom and Guidance to help us do the right thing." ... and I have faith that He will do just that (is doing just that). One of the ways He fulfills the "Having the Faith, etc." comments, is being able to DO the things that He leads to us to DO... which, IMHO, includes getting medical help. Of course, we should not "judge"... He will take it up with them later on Judgment Day. He works in mysterious ways and we should NOT attempt to 'second guess' Him. Yes?

The question still exists whether Gods law and society's law coincide. A case I remember a few years ago, when Andrea Yates killed her 5 children in her home. She said "God made me do it".

With the current day lawmakers, anything is possible, and could not have ANY resemblance to God's law... I remember that lady... I think she was really misguided with a case of mis-identification! She probably meant to say "The Devil made me do it."... I don't think God would have done that.
